A group exhibition by Alexandra Gutierrez, Tarik Kentouche, Christina Ridolfi, and Ashley Addair
A reflexive study on the virtual exhibition. Born out of a series of accidents and miscommunications, Swimmer and Apple and Monkey was first created digitally by tracing images of sculptures shared through email. It was subsequently expanded by a virtual gallery presentation featuring jpegs. of the works which can be viewed here. The works together, or more appropriately, the ways the multiple works look at one another is a mediation on form and formlessness, irl space and virtual space, text and image. It asks questions about what is lost and what is gained as input and information is translated across media. In the spirit of distanced collaboration it considers relationship and the spaces in-between.
